2022 Public Events


(Usually) May through October - Guided Tours Every Weekend

Saturday & Sunday Tours at 11am and 2pm NOT AVAILABLE YET. 
Let our historians guide you on a 2 hour walking tour through the fort and some of its buildings.
$5/person on site (please arrive 15 minutes prior). Online reservations are strongly encouraged.

Weekend Tour Notes:
Tours may be unavailable on some weekends while private events (like weddings, corporate team building, etc.) take place within the fort.  

Weekday tours, Monday thru Thursday are available by appointment only for groups of 4 to 10 people. Contact us at info@historicfortwaynecoalition.com to schedule.

May 1 - Early Riser BBC Home Game
Vintage base ball at its best! Our own Early Riser Base Ball Club takes on Brooklyn BBC at the fort. Full schedule here. 

June 5 - Early Riser BBC Home Game
Vintage base ball at its best! Our own Early Riser Base Ball Club takes on the Northville BBC at the fort. Full schedule here.

June 12 & 13 - Civil War Days

June 19 & 20- Colonial Days

Saturday 10am - 4pm

Sunday 10am - 3pm
Re-enactors bring the Revolutionary War period to life as they take over the outer fort grounds and you're invited! Demonstrations, drills, encampments, and talks. More here.

July (date TBD) - Sixth Annual Historic Fort Wayne Motor Show
9am - 4pm
One of Detroit's largest outdoor car shows takes place within the walls of our beloved star fort. Participate with your classic ride or just come and view all the great entries!

July 24 - Vintage Baseball Day 
11am - 4:00pm
A full day of vintage base ball at its best! Our own Early Riser BBC hosts multiple games featuring Detroit Base Ball Club, Flat Rock, Wahoos, Moscow Monarchs,  Richmond, Stockbridge, Highlanders, Ghostriders, Swamp Frogs, Wyandotte, Portland Blue Soxand Dexter baseball clubs. 

July 31 & Aug 1 - Le Rendez-vous du Détroit
10am - 5pm

Le Rendez-vous du Détroit is a French Canadian and Native American cultural event celebrating the founding heritages of Detroit. Come and experience live French Canadian and Native American music and dancing plus food and fun! Event details here.

August 1 - Detroit Firemens' Fund Field Day
10am - 4pm
It's the 97th Annual Detroit Firemen’s Field Day at Fort Wayne! Lots of family fun, including your picture with a firefighter, Detroit Fire Department Honor Guard. 50/50 raffle, food and more. Located on the Parade Grounds outside the star fort.

August 13, 14, 15 - Charivari Detroit Electronic Music Festival
Charivari Detroit is a multi-faceted, multi stage festival that promotes health, art and, especially, music. Each DJ, Artist, producer, or Yogi has a direct connection to Detroit. Tickets and more info on their website here.

Tours After Dark
August 21, Oct 2, 16, 23 

6:30pm – 11:30 pm

Join storytellers as they reveal legends and tales you will not hear on our daytime tours. Tickets available online soon by pre-sale only.

October - HFWC Fall Antiques & Collectibles Market CANCELLED

Saturday 10am - 4pm

Sunday 10am - 3pm

Thousands of items! Bake sale, food vendors, over 70 tables of antiques and collectible goods for purchase. Partial proceeds support operational efforts of the HFWC to maintain the fort and provide educational programming.

December 4 - Christmas at the Fort 
Tours leave every 15 minutes, 2 pm - 5:45 pm. Details and tickets here.
